Bachlaw Crisis Care
Bachlaw Projects have developed a crisis care service which provides support to young people aged 8 to 18 for up to 28 days at the time when they are struggling the most. This may be a residential placement which meets the needs of the young person whilst a longer term placement is found, to do focused work to restore family relationships and support a move back home or simply to help young people to manage transitions between placements.
Bachlaw Projects believe that this service can be a positive choice for young people who are in crisis as this is an opportunity for learning and change. Individual programmes will be created for each young person which account for their interests and abilities and which promote skills development and resilience. Programmes may also include a variety of activities which are new to the young person offering the chance for challenge and achievement such as a range of outdoor pursuits and sailing in the project's yacht - 'Windshift'.
Referrals to this service will be made by the local authority social work departments and will be on an emergency basis.
